Prospective Families

Welcome to 6 Points Creative Arts!

A Camp for Everyone with a Passion!

“Best camp environment for my artsy kid.  So happy it’s there for her, and so happy that the leadership is so loving and nurturing of all its campers.” CAA Parent

URJ 6 Points Creative Arts Academy is a camp for those with an existing passion for the arts who don’t want to choose between arts camp and Jewish camp!

What makes 6 Points Creative Arts unique?

“If it weren’t for CAA and its programming and facilities, I can’t imagine her being interested in sleep-away camp.” CAA Parent

All URJ camps are committed to providing fun, engaging activities and programs, nurturing life-long friendships, led by fantastic counselors that act as role models, living Jewish values.   In addition to these goals, 6 Points Creative Arts Academy dives deep into skill-building and artistic expression. Our arts staff are high-level professionals in their disciplines, working with our leadership and faculty to connect art and artistry to Judaism.  Passion and a desire to build on their skills are the key components for camper success at CAA.  There are no auditions, and all campers have opportunities to showcase their work. Our air-conditioned dorms are a plus for those looking for an alternative to bunks for their camp experience.

What if my family isn’t very involved in Jewish life?

“Excellent building of Jewish identity via song, and he loved celebrating Shabbat in an artistic way.” CAA Parent

Campers come to us from a variety of Jewish backgrounds. We help our campers find their own path on their Jewish journey.  Living in an immersive Jewish community offers our campers the opportunity to strengthen their Jewish identities in ways that are meaningful to them.  CAA is a welcoming community for interfaith families who have made Jewish choices for their children, including Jewish overnight camp.

What about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion?

“Loved the natural flow of inclusivity throughout camp and how concepts that may have been unknown were beautifully shared.” CAA Parent

The Creative Arts Academy embraces the multiple, intersecting identities that our campers, staff and faculty bring to our community.  We believe that our campers should see themselves reflected in others, while affirming what makes them unique.  We work with families to support our campers so that all feel welcome to explore their art and Judaism.

What if my camper needs extra support while at camp?

“Camp provided a space that welcomes and nurtures campers; this made an impact on my child who does not always fit the mold.” CAA Parent

Successful campers start with successful partnerships with parents. The more information you can provide to help us support your camper, the better chance we have of creating a meaningful, positive experience. Camp is a fast-paced, community-based living environment; campers are expected to fully participate in all programming. We do not have the ability to provide one-on-one support to campers. While a maintenance therapy session can be scheduled during the session your camper is attending we are not able to schedule routine therapies or provide counseling at camp.

Prior to enrolling a camper, we call every family that applies to get to know you and the camper beyond the information on the application form. This way, we can begin to create a path to success for the camper before registration and opening day. If it is determined that CAA is not the best fit for a camper, we work with families to refer them to programs that might better suit their needs.

Camp has a community care team on-site to work with our campers and with the staff who will be caring for them. Our staff stays in touch with parents throughout the summer in various ways to keep you up to date on camp happenings, and to keep you informed about your camper while they are entrusted to us.

What about the food?

“The food was raved about!”  CAA Parent

Don’t get us started about the food!  Delicious.  Check.  Nutritious. Check.  Allergies?  No worries – we work with families and our site to make sure our campers are healthy and safe.  We do not mix milk and meat, nor do we serve pork or shellfish.  Vegetarian options are always available and many of our campers who keep kosher find this option works for them as well.  And did we mention the food is great?
