David Loewy – Artistic Director
David Loewy is a writer, performer, director, educator, producer, carpenter, sound technician, amateur home chef, and… well, what else ya got? He’ll consider it. He was born and raised in Texas and spent most of his summers at the URJ Greene Family Camp. He was twice named as a Steven Spielberg Fellow in Jewish Theater Arts Education. His plays have won him an Edward Albee Fellowship, the Helford Prize, and the only TYA Award from the Jewish Plays Project (They even threw in a knish with that last one). He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin and received a Master of Public Administration from New York University’s Wagner Graduate School. In addition, David has spent the last decade as a construction project manager for cultural institutions in New York City. He loves engaging with the details that make a blank space into an arts space. He is entirely thrilled to to return as the Artistic Director of the 6 Points Creative Arts Academy.
Abi Oshins – Program Director
Abi is beyond excited for her second summer at CAA as the Program Director (she directs the programs!) and unofficial fairy of whimsy. During the year Abi serves as a Teen Educator at Temple Beth Shalom of Needham Massachusetts. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Boston University in English Education with a minor in Theater. Her hobbies include acting, painting, singing (mostly in the car), braiding challah, and playing with her dog, Yofi. She looks forward to bringing her passion for the arts, Judaism, programming, and spontaneous dance parties to camp this summer.
